About Wiley’s Wellness Sanctuary

Transforming energy, mind, and spirit with care

About the Founder of Wiley’s Wellness, Taylor Melendes

My name is Taylor Melendes, and I am the Holistic Practitioner and founder of Wiley’s Wellness Center in Carson City. This sanctuary was created as a space for deep healing, gentle transformation, and the expansion of light.

At Wiley’s Wellness, I offer Grief Counseling, Health Coaching, Crystal Therapy, Sound Therapy, Reiki, and Aromatherapy, all thoughtfully woven together to support mind, body, and spirit. Our space includes two private treatment rooms, as well as Crystal Bed Therapy for chakra alignment and Medical-Grade Infrared Light Therapy to support cellular healing and restoration.

Wiley’s Wellness is named in honor of my late son, Wiley, who passed in 2020 after a tragic accident. In the years that followed, I also lost both of my in-laws, my parents, whom I lovingly cared for, my beloved dog, and two close friends. Grief became a constant companion, and I found myself searching not just for coping but for true healing.

The search that led me on a profound and transformative healing journey. While traditional therapy can be helpful for many, it was not what helped me to reconnect to my inner light. What truly supported my healing were crystals, therapeutic-grade essential oils, and sound therapy through singing bowls –modalities that work with vibration, energy, and frequency to gently restore balance.

Through these practices, I experience how sound can move through the body, how oils can penetrate at a cellular level, and how crystals can support energetic alignment. Together, they helped elevate my vibration, soften my grief ,and expand my light.

Wiley’s Wellness exists to offer others what I found for myself: A sacred space where healing is honored, energy is nurtured ,and light is remembered –especially in moments when it feels hardest to find.

Meet Powder!

CEO of the Greeting Committee 🐾

After the loss of my son, I knew I needed more than companionship — I needed steadiness, presence, and true support. I also deeply understood the seriousness and responsibility of having a professionally trained, ADA-certified service dog. I first brought home a puppy and enrolled him in service dog training in Grass Valley, California, but it quickly became clear that path wasn’t meant for him.

And then I realized something profound — the perfect companion had already been by my side all along.

I enrolled Powder in the very same program, and she didn’t just complete the training… she surpassed it. She stepped into the role with natural intuition, focus, and heart. It was never forced. It was who she already was.

Powder is not just my service dog — she is instrumental in everything beautiful that happens here at Wiley’s Wellness Sanctuary.

At 8 years old, this Australian Labradoodle (not to be confused with an Aussiedoodle) carries a depth of wisdom and intuition that continues to amaze me. She is ADA-certified and has the remarkable ability to sense an anxiety attack before it happens. Long before words are spoken or symptoms appear, Powder knows. She gently alerts, grounds, and anchors — often becoming the steady presence that shifts the entire trajectory of a moment.

She is woven into the fabric of this Sanctuary.

Powder has sat quietly beside grief sessions, softened the edges of nervous first-time clients, comforted trembling hands during difficult conversations, and greeted hundreds of beautiful souls at the door with calm authority and unconditional love. Her presence regulates the room. Her nervous system steadies others. She holds space without trying.

I lovingly call her the CEO of the Greeting Committee — but truthfully, she is far more than that. She is guardian of the energy, emotional barometer, silent co-facilitator, and an integral part of the healing field here.

When you walk through our doors and feel that immediate sense of safety…

There’s a good chance Powder felt you first.

And she’s already working. 💛
